Designed and Technically Supported by Sejin Oh, Research Director, FineVT Robotics Laboratory
The FineVT Robotics Laboratory, under the leadership of Research Director Sejin Oh, has provided system design and technical support for the deployment of an anti-drone defense system at Incheon International Airport, one of the world’s busiest aviation hubs.
Technical Contributions
- System Architecture Design: FineVT was responsible for designing the core operational framework integrating radar, RF detection, and optical tracking systems to ensure rapid drone threat identification and interception.
- Integration Support: Provided technical optimization for real-time command and control (C2) networks, ensuring seamless interoperability with existing airport security and air traffic management systems.
- Countermeasure Technology Advisory: Supported the evaluation and deployment of non-kinetic and electronic warfare-based counter-drone solutions, minimizing risks to civilian aircraft and airport infrastructure.
Strategic Significance
The successful implementation of this system significantly enhances low-altitude airspace security around Incheon International Airport, setting a benchmark for integrated counter-UAS (Unmanned Aerial Systems) defense in civilian aviation environments. FineVT’s involvement demonstrates its growing leadership in national critical infrastructure protection and advanced counter-drone technologies.
